歐洲人向來認為美國沒有fashion sense 可言，後來有了Marc Jacobs 和Oscar de la Renta 等品牌的出現，開始打破這個謬誤。近年更冒起了Prabal Gurung、3.1 Phillip Lim 和紅得發紫的Alexander Wang，讓美國品牌於時裝界佔上一席位，令美式悠閒風格成為潮流的一部份。
